The contributing member must take paternity leave within thirty (30) days following the date of birth or the official adoption handover of the child.
The employer will present the child's birth certificate or the official adoption handover certificate to the EPS.
To access recognition and payment, the contributing member must have made contributions during the months corresponding to the mother's gestation period, including the month in which the leave begins. If contributions were made for a shorter period, recognition will be proportional.
Paternity leave will be calculated based on the contribution base income declared by the father in the month the child is born or officially handed over.
