New working hours in Colombia

On July 15, 2024, the second period of progressivity in the reduction of working hours began, decreasing from 47 to 46 hours.

The employer and the employee may agree on the distribution of the 46 weekly hours, without this exempting the employer from their authority to define the distribution of working hours.
The gradual reduction does not affect workers' salaries, nor their rights and guarantees.
The time exceeding the maximum legal working hours must be analyzed to determine what corresponds to supplementary work and overtime.
Supplementary work and overtime continue to be a maximum of 2 hours per day and 12 hours per week.
